Youth/Children's Ministry

Youth Ministry is an important part of any church, and at Monterey
UMC we involve youth in various aspects of the church life (choir,
bells, leadership roles, etc.). We also hold special event
gatherings for our youth. Church
School - Currently we have two classes. One is for
Kindergarten – Fourth Grade. The second is for 5th - 8th Grade.
All children go to Sunday School after the children’s message at 11:15.
ARK (Assuming Responsibility for Kids)
Ministry
- Children's ARK meets Tuesday evenings (with occasional breaks) from
6:00- 8:00 P.M. in the Fellowship Hall. Dinner and structured
activities are provided with emphasis placed on presenting a nurturing
Christian message. The program is for kids Ages: 4 years to 5th grade
(3 years old by permission of leader).
Childcare

Childcare is provided in the nursery for infants to 5 years old.
Cribs, high chairs, and various toys are available. A second nursery is
used on some Sundays when needed. Music Ministry
-
Bob and Nancy Jones
Music has always been an integral part of our worship services
because we believe that music is a wonderful gift to lead people into
God's presence and help them grow in Christ. Bob & Nancy Jones team up
as our choir directors and organists. The choir meets every Thursday
from 7-8. Bell choir begins in the fall and meets Thursdays from 6-7
p.m. (with a few breaks) We have a contemporary Praise Band and it
plays prior to the traditional Sunday worship service at 10:30-11:00.
Chime Choir: Nancy Jones also works with participating older
elementary kids & youth teaching them how to play chimes. Adult Bible Study

We have an online bible study – for the link please check under the Bible Study
page. Devotional thoughts are at the same ‘blog-site.’
We have a Bible Study on Tuesday evenings
starting at 6 p.m., concurrent with the children’s program ARK. Additional
studies are held at different times. Please request information from the church
office about special studies and any “holidays” for the Tuesday evening study.
Women's Ministry -
UMW
United Methodist Women are active in supporting our church,
meeting for fellowship, study and mission work. They gather in
General Meetings and in a Circle on alternate months. Visit

Stephen Ministers
We have Stephen Ministers who provide spiritual counseling on an
individual basis as needed.
Outreach

UMC
Members
We maintain a food pantry on two Tuesdays every month. Our
church is involved and supports other ministries in our area, such
as the Angel Tree program for CPY. Our members are also amazingly
busy with their various efforts to help make the world a better
place!
